Shortly after World War II, something new was introduced to the American mainstream: martial arts. With high value placed on tradition and discipline within these ancient practices, maintaining heritage while moving to the US proved difficult.
Many athletes, including students at Berkeley High School, train, play, and practice year-round in order to be competitive. To succeed in BHS’s soccer program, many players like Academic Choice sophomore Finn Gohlke, who plays on the BHS boys varsity team, play outside of the winter season.

On October 14, a Giants vs. Dodgers game ended with many fans taking to social media to express their frustration about the officiating of the game. Fans ranted that calls were unfair and the umpires were biased.
On September 28, the Berkeley High School varsity girls water polo team defeated the Castro Valley High School Trojans 10-8 at the Jacket Pool. While COVID-19 protocol restricted the crowd capacity, the game was sold out and fans were cheering passionately.
Senior cross country runner Quinn Koch of Berkeley International High School hopes to help lead the Berkeley High School cross country team to a league championship.
