Join Robin Sharp on violin, Michael Flexer on cello, and Russell Hancock on piano for an evening of chamber music on November 8th. The concert will be at the Freight and Salvage on 2020 Addison Street. A mask and proof of vaccination are required.

Hip Hop at the DNA Lounge
The DNA Lounge in San Francisco hosts weekly events for people to dance, vibe, and get lit. On Saturday, November 6, there will be a local hip hop showcase from 6:30 PM to 12 AM that is open to all ages. Mask and proof of vaccination required.
Price: $13 advance, $16 day of show

Día de los Muertos Symphony
On Saturday, November 6, conductor Enluis Montes Olivar will lead the San Francisco Symphony in a Día de los Muertos concert at the Civic Center. The performance will be about Xóchitl and Huitzilin, an Aztec myth with a focus on love and nature.

MUSEUM EXHIBITS

BAMPFA Exhibit
On Sunday, November 7, BAMPFA will be hosting the New Time: Art and Feminisms in the 21st Century exhibit. This exhibit examines the many issues and perspectives of contemporary feminism. The museum’s hours are 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Price: Free for those under 18.

Oakland Museum of CA Exhibit
From October 13 to November 28, the Oakland Museum of California will be honoring el Día de los Muertos with an ofrenda exhibit. This year’s ofrenda will honor COVID-19 victims. Attendees can add personal offerings to the ofrenda.
Price: $7 for students under 18

UC Berkeley Writing Workshop
Every Sunday in November from 12 PM to 2 PM, the University of California (UC), Berkeley’s libraries will host virtual events in support of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). The workshops are called Come Write In.

Berkeley Flea Market
The Berkeley Flea Market takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Ashby BART station. The event will feature live music, food, and vendors. Jewelry, clothes, and other wares are sold at a low price.

BERKELEY HIGH

CCC Senior Workshop
Through the month of November, Berkeley High School’s (BHS) College and Career Center (CCC) will host workshops to help seniors polish and perfect their college applications. These workshops will be available on Mondays, before the late start of first period, as well as on Thursday, November 18. Through Zoom, the CCC also offers essay readers from Monday through Thursday to help applicants get another set of eyes to read and edit their college essays.
